Launch Diaries 001: A No-Filter Look Behind the Scenes of my Launch

Welcome to my Launch Diaries! In this new series, I take you behind the scenes of what is happening in preparation for my upcoming launch. I decided to do this series because I wanted to create the kind of content that is not only meaningful to me but also beneficial to my community. I am enjoying making these VLOGs because I love the feeling of showing up and taking you with me as I go through my launch process.

You see, I’m currently in the process of planning two launches- YES, you read that right, one launch will lead right into the next. I have never done this before, and I am excited and nervous to see what lessons I’ll learn.

I personally *LOVE* launching because it brings together all my skills and my passions. It takes so much of my energy and I know I have to show up consistently. I consider it a huge personal development process because during a launch you are constantly facing all your fears and doubt. I know that can be scary for some people, I also know being unprepared for a launch makes it even harder- which is what I can help you with!

In this VLOG I take you through my entire Monday, starting from 7:40am to 10:12pm; you see and hear me talk about:

  • How I went from feeling totally prepared to totally overwhelmed
  • Why I feel like the bottleneck of my business
  • What I do to prioritize my mental health + well-being
  • How I prioritize my tasks
  • A call with my Operations Manager and Bestie, Laura
  • New business systems and processes
  • How I prioritize my tasks and a lot more

The goal of these launch VLOGs is for me to open the door (or camera 😊), let you in behind the scenes, and to literally bring you in as I would my Biz Bestie. It is also a very interactive way for you to get a visual of what goes on behind a launch.

Come with me as we launch together! Watch the first video in the Launch Diaries series and don’t forget to leave me a comment and let me know what you thought of this style of video!

Five Must Haves Money Mindset!

Are you terrified of making more money in your business? Have you had these thoughts around money:
What would I do if I make a lot of money?
Am I even responsible enough to manage more money?
What will my friends and family think about me making so much money?
Will having more money change who I am?

I am talking about money and money mindset! Yes, the thing we were told NEVER to discuss. The thing we cannot live without yet if we want more of it we are called greedy. Why is the topic of money so taboo? Why is there so much secrecy and shame around money? You either don’t have enough or not making enough and want more. Money plays such a huge role in our lives, yet our mindset around it can be so warped.

If you’ve been following me on Instagram for some time, you’ve heard me speak about money mindset and how it played a huge role when I almost went bankrupt back in 2016. In January 2019 I made a podcast episode where I walked you through how I manifested $100,000 and how my mindset played an enormous role in my success.

In my latest YouTube video, I explore five main money mindset beliefs you should be working on to create long-term wealth and success in your life. How did I go about hacking my mind about money? How did I start actively believing that money is working for me instead of against me? I did so by using these Five Money Mindset Beliefs.

You do this by changing your beliefs around money, guarding your mind and saying these money affirmations. Another major thing is surrounding yourself with people who have already accomplished what you want to achieve. It gives your mind a visual that having more money is possible. WARNING: This only works if there are action steps being taken to point you in the right direction to create wealth.

While you do not need to have money to make a huge impact in the world, having it does make it easier. When there are more generous, good-hearted people who share their wealth this leads to a tangible change in the world. One of the main reasons for me wanting to make money is so that I can make a positive, genuine impact through my generosity, and create more sustainable opportunities for others.

One of the biggest feedbacks I get from people about making more money is that they do not feel they can trust themselves to make the right decisions about their wealth. This goes back to your mindset. You have to believe you can handle this. It starts with simple steps like tracking your finances. How much are you spending daily, weekly, monthly? When was the last time you even looked at your finances?

How you feel about yourself should not be a reflection of how much money is in your bank account. This is important, because a lot of people are hard on themselves when they do not hit their income goal. Having a healthy money mindset means you are clear about where your worth lies.

This goes back to what you were taught as a child. Many people were taught that having a lot of money is a bad thing. Wanting money does not mean I get my sole joy or purpose out of having money. If I did not have money I would still have everything I need in life. Having money makes life easier so why would I not want it?

Those are the five money mindset beliefs I explore in my latest YouTube video. Being intentional about your money mindset is incredibly valuable because it will only increase the long-term wealth in your life. There is a version of yourself that is way more elevated, successful, who is making more money, being wildly generous and having a lot more freedom. We choose the stories we tell ourselves. What stories about money are you telling yourself?

I have also made a printable download worksheet filled with money mindset affirmations for you to use- click here to download.

I Surprised My Fiancé with a Tobago Getaway!

My focus for 2021 is to celebrate the big and small things in life. I think with the pandemic we have all had to figure out what celebrating looks like, especially because we cannot get together with friends or travel on the holidays. In March, Nick and I celebrated our one-year engagementversary 💍! Who would have thought, one year on, we would be no closer to setting that magical date. Still, I felt we needed to mark this special day, so, to celebrate I surprised Nick with an 11-day vacation stay in Tobago. We understand that we are in a pandemic and while we wait to plan the wedding we truly deserve, it does not mean we cannot celebrate and enjoy the journey.

We started our trip at one of the most beautiful location on Tobago, Blue Waters Inn. Tobago is a 15mins plane ride from Trinidad, and Blue Waters Inn is on the North East coast, with a scenic 90mins drive from the airport. The hotel overlooks the beautiful Batteaux Bay and is the perfect getaway spot to relax and enjoy being together in the most idyllic location. Our room overlooked the bay which offered the most spectacular view of the sunset to end the day. Who could ask for more?

On our first day we booked a tour to Pirate’s Bay which came highly recommended by all our friends. Man-O-War bay was definitely one not to miss as it gave us a panoramic view of the entire bay with every shade of blue as far as the eyes could see. Although it was a 15mins trek through the forest down we were led directly onto Pirates’s Bay. WOW! Blown away!!! If ever you are in Tobago, Pirate’s Bay is definitely a must!!!

This was our first stay at Blue Water’s Inn and it was the perfect way to start celebrating. Join me and my Fiancé Nick as we take you along with us to explore Tobago and see what we got up to for the first few days of our trip and whether we would recommend Blue Waters Inn to you!

Tobago is definitely one of those places you go and you discover somewhere new that becomes your favourite place- for me that was Pirate’s Bay! While we only got through a few of the things on Island Girl In Transit 101 Reasons To Visit Tobago, the things we did we absolutely enjoyed! Come, see what we got up to in Tobago!

Watch the video below to see all we got up to while we were in Tobago!

Yes, I know, some of us want to forget about 2020, put it in a box and never revisit it. But I implore you to not write off an entire 365 days. What lessons did 2020 teach you? How did it make you better and more prepared for 2021? To go forward with purpose, we must look back bravely.

If you have been following me on Instagram, you would know that in 2020 I took an entire year off from creating content. I wanted to pressed pause on everything, took a step back to put things in place on the backend of my business so I could show up with purpose as your Online Biz Bestie.

In taking the year off I learned so much about myself, the business, what I want my brand to mature into, what true self-care and success looks like. In my latest video I shared 10 Lessons I Learned In 2020, some of these lessons includes:

What sustainable success looks like to me? I feel like I have grown from being that person who would have sacrificed a lot to “be successful”. Today I know that success must be sustainable, and I am getting rid of the self-imposed timelines and pressures. I do not know where we got the idea that we must achieve these lists of things by X date. I am letting go of all the pressures.

Setting Boundaries in business. I know setting boundaries is so “on trend” but trust me, it makes a massive difference when done correctly. When you set boundaries, you are drawing a line and making sure others respect your line. Looking back I can see where lack of boundaries lead to me being overworked and feeling drained physically, mentally and emotionally.

Outsourcing my personal life. Yes! That’s right! No, I did not outsource everything, I still make my morning breakfast and coffee. I am at that space in my business where if I want to get everything done, then I need to outsource the things I can. This is very big picture thinking, I do not need to go make a grocery run if someone else can do that. I am constantly asking the question, “is this the best use of my time?” “can this be outsourced?”. Try it, that did wonders for me.

These are just three of the Ten Lessons I Learned in 2020. They all started with one easy step, that led to bigger improvements. For 2021, what is that one easy thing you can do that will make a massive difference in how you show up, in how you feel and in how you support yourself in life and in business?

Watch the video below to see all Ten Lessons I Learned in 2020 and how they are changing my 2021 outlook.

I finally did it! I am back on YouTube after four years!!! In 2017, I went to bed with a YouTube channel that had over 1.9 million views, 30,000 subscribers and 200 videos. I woke up and it all disappeared 😯.

Today I am starting back from ground zero, no videos, no impressions, I am starting with a clean slate. Of course, I would love to do a reaction of video of my first ever YouTube post, but I take solace in the fact that we won’t have to equally cringe and wonder, “What was she doing?” 😂

I took my time (three years, five months and twenty two days to be exact) to finally decide to get back on YouTube. I was very nervous doing this video and a part of me wanted to wait until it was “perfect”, but I always say, “done is better than perfect!”

In my first and latest YouTube video, I talk about my journey over the last thirteen years: how I went from being a professional portrait photographer, bombing my first launch, having my first six-figure launch without any ad spend, to hanging up my camera and becoming a full-time launch strategist.

In this video I break down the last nine years, all the experiences what made me who I am today:

  • How I started my first email list
  • Launched my YouTube channel
  • Launched my first online product
  • Broke up with photography
  • Created my first online course
  • Almost went bankrupt
  • Started a podcast
  • Became the Instagram Story Queen
  • Built a team who currently frees me up to do what I do best, CREATE!
  • AND had my first half a million-dollar year in biz

The last thirteen years have been a wild ride, filled with experiences and lessons that make me who I am today – your Online Biz Bestie! Watch below for the full journey!
