#056 – Jeremy Cowart on Art, Work, & Passion

This week I interview Jeremy Cowart, an award-winning photographer, artist, and entrepreneur whose goal in life is to inspire and help others. Cowart talks about his multifaceted and ever-changing career and he gives advice to potential humanitarians and artists. We speak about his latest endeavor The Purpose Hotel, a planned global for-profit hotel chain designed to fuel the work of not-for-profit organizations as well as his new book “I’m Possible” which is coming out soon.

Show Notes:

  • Why Cowart appreciates the autonomy of his work
  • Cowart’s wide-ranging background and his current project
  • How Cowart has been able to pursue so many different types of humanitarian projects
  • He talks about how he bounces back from failure or difficulty
  • His current art is a multimedia effort of painting, graphic design, Photoshop, and drawing
  • Why Cowart is “jumping into fear” and his upcoming book launch
  • How to reinvent your career and what it means to your followers
  • Why it pays to be specific about the jobs you accept
  • How you can make a positive impact on the world
  • The most difficult and fun aspects of the hotel project
  • Why Cowart always chooses family over work

3 Key Points:

  1. Push through fear and insecurity. Voice your idea and make something great happen.
  2. The Purpose Hotel is an exciting new humanitarian project scheduled to be finished in 2021.
  3. Reinventing oneself based on one’s passions is more important than being “liked’.
