How to Make Money Without Being a Sleazy Sales Person

Hey friends,

Firstly, I want to start off by saying that I really enjoy our relationship. I love making these videos for you every week, I love hearing from you in the comment section, and over on Snapchat and Instagram. Most of all, I love being your business BFF. I know I said it at the end of yesterday’s email, but I want to expand a bit. It’s my mission to help YOU go from ‘part-time’ to ‘full-time’, and I appreciate that you’ve let me into your journey. We’re in this together.

Today I want to talk about your sales. I’m sure if you’re reading this, your sales probably aren’t at a point where you could comfortably go full-time. And that’s okay. It’s a process. You’ll get there. But today I want to talk about …

How to make money in your business when you’re not necessarily a good sales person:

  • Emma - I love this Alex!!! There are so many of us creatives out there that aren’t sales experts or savvy to sales. You can get so unbelievably lost in the “do this on Instagram for more followers” jargon that in all honestly can often turn me away from social media – which as you rightly says is the most exciting way to be present as a growing business in the 21st century. My biggest ‘aha moment’ from this episode was definitely the phrase “hope marketing” it struck a chord! Signed up on your VIP list and I’m looking forward to Oct!!!ReplyCancel

    • Alex Beadon - Emma, I’m super pumped to have you on my VIP List and so grateful you took the time to leave a comment. Loved knowing that the phrase ‘hope marketing’ hit you the hardest, I think you’re going to enjoy October. Super excited! 🙂ReplyCancel

  • megs - Great episode Alex! I think Estee Lauder said it best “Ive never worked a day in my life without selling. If I believe in something, I sell it, and I sell it hard.” I believe we all sell, its just those that truly believe in what they are doing and do it with a passion of serving others will never come across as the “icky salesy” energy but an authentic exchange of service. <3ReplyCancel

    • Alex Beadon - MMM YESSS! I love what you said here, Megs.ReplyCancel

  • Amine - Hi Alex, I am following few days ago and I start feeling comfortable and I really like the way you explain think. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.ReplyCancel

  • Amber - I actually love sales! Because I feel like it is the art of giving and sharing! People love to buy they just don’t love to be sold! I love how you said to make it a slippery slope so they want what you have!!! BOOM that was epic!!!!!!ReplyCancel

    • Alex Beadon - I *love* that you *love* sales 🙂ReplyCancel

  • Maria - Alex, after following you for YEARS, it’s definitely time to write my first comment. Ive been thinking over and over again to connect with you and respond to the content you bring out to all of us out there. I was thinking of responding to your Snap Chat-month back in March already, but noooo. So no more procrastination!
Loved this chatty tuesday! Just the word “sale” is definitely not a word that comes naturally to me, and that’s because of all those cheesy sales people. We all know the type.
But like you say in this video, as a business owner, it’s all about your own life and your business and there are good ways and bad ways to sell. Thanks for the reminder on that and why we want to sell for our businesses to thrive.ReplyCancel

    • Alex Beadon - Maria, I feel like I’m meeting an old friend. 🙂 Thanks for taking time to comment and introduce yourself. It’s lovely to hear that you’ve been following along for such a long time, and I’m soooo glad that you enjoyed this week’s episode of Chatty Tuesday! 🙂 YESSS!ReplyCancel

  • Varvara - Alex, good day! I love your videos thank you so much! Always recommend you to others. I have an off topic question if I may. How do you make this YouTube player look differently that the standard one? When I embed my youtube videos in the post it looks different than yours. How do you do this? Thank you in advance!ReplyCancel

  • Adaeze Igboanugo - Hey Alex! I love your videos you are such an inspiration. I would love for you to check out my blog posts. ThanksReplyCancel
